The Race: Speed on foot

Shock infantry and skirmishers are the fastest on foot, then line infantry, then archers, then dismounted cavalry.

  1. Shock Infantry×0.82
    Place 1.
  2. Skirmisher×0.82
    Place 1.
  3. Melee Infantry×0.80
Place 3. Melee Infantry is 2.4 % of the distance short of the line when the fastest finish.
  4. Archer×0.78
Place 4. Archer is 4.9 % of the distance short of the line when the fastest finish.
  5. Cavalry (on foot)×0.76
Place 5. Cavalry is 7.3 % of the distance short of the line when the fastest finish.

Same start, same distance, each at its class speed (1 = Bannerlord’s base speed). The frame is the last stretch, magnified, at the instant the fastest cross the line: every gap is in proportion.

Laws of the Armoury: Balance rules

Written into the module itself, so no banner can bend them.

  1. One stat line per role

An Elven archer and an Orc archer share the same health, armour, speed and skills. Every class has 150 hit points, and armour is set by the class on every body part (40 for infantry and cavalry, 23 for archers, 22 for skirmishers), whatever pieces you wear. Factions differ by their weapons and their look, not by hidden numbers.

  2. Speed on foot

Shock infantry and skirmishers are the fastest on foot, then line infantry, then archers, then dismounted cavalry.

  3. Shields by role

Infantry shields hold 300 points, skirmisher shields 250 and cavalry shields 200. Shock infantry fights without a shield.

  4. Thirty per quiver

Every quiver holds 30 arrows or bolts.

  5. No great weapons in the saddle

Cavalry carries no two-handed weapon, with one exception: the Wainrider glaive. Archer lords no longer carry two-handed weapons either, and since v1.0.2.3 neither do infantry lords: they lead with spear, sword and shield.

  6. Same spear, same thrust

Infantry spears have shorter shafts and the same thrust damage and speed in every faction; each spear keeps its own length.

  7. Bow or javelin

Archer officers and lords choose between a bow and javelins, so they can lead the skirmish line too.

The lance rule: Polearms in hand

If you spawn with a spear, lance or pike, it is in your hand. The moment you switch to anything else, it drops to the ground.

  1. You spawn: the lance is in your hand.

  2. You switch to another weapon.

  3. The lance drops to the ground.

  • Concerned: spears, lances and pikes.
  • Since v1.0.2.3, poleaxes, halberds and glaives stay in your kit when you switch: the Arnor Northstar poleaxe, the Arthedain Northstar war spear, the Black Uruk halberds, the Harad glaive and the Mirkwood glaive.
  • Free: javelins and throwing spears.
  • Mounted or on foot makes no difference: dismounting to swap weapons does not keep both.
  • Switching from a spear or lance to another polearm drops the spear or lance.
  • The dropped weapon stays on the ground: anyone can pick it up again.

The Stables: Mounts

Banners and Looks: Appearance

Dress as you like: the numbers never move.

  1. The officer’s banner

Officers spawn with a banner in their kit, in their region’s colours. It takes the shield hand: switch to your shield and the banner falls to the ground. It is purely visual.

  2. Variants per slot

Most presets offer several helmets, chests, pauldrons, gloves or boots. You pick the look in the loadout screen; the stats never change.

  3. Lords look the part

Lords wear the finest armour of their region and their own named look, with exactly the same class stats as the line.

Pick your steel on the field

Every preset is waiting in the event module. Install it, then see which kingdom fields which arms.
